We hold various events over winter. Dryland sledding is a seasonal sport which requires temperatures below 15 degrees.

Beginner Days

13th, 14th and 20nd April 2019

Gnangara Pine Plantation (Entry off Pessoa Rd) – at 3pm

For the general public who are interested in dog sledding but want to have a go before committing to purchasing equipment. These days are put on by the club to give anybody and their dogs a go at the sport.

Beginners Camp

 17 to 19th of May 2019

Baden Powell Camp Grounds- Dwellingup

This is a weekend which WASSA runs to help new mushers learn about the sport, have mock races and get to meet experience members who can assist with all aspects of training for this sport.

The registration fee covers meals, accommodation and 3 days of invaluable workshops and training.

Quizmas in July

Race 1 – Jarrahwood – 22 to 23rd June 2019

Race 2 –
Muck’n Mayhem- 6 to 7th July 2019 (ASSA Point Score race)

Race 3 – Grimwade- 10 to 11th August 2019

Race 4 – Dwellingup – 7 to 8th of September 2019

These are the four competitive races held by WASSA this year. Each race go towards earning points for the State title in all classes.

AGM & Presentation Night

We incorporate our annual general meeting into our end of year awards night, we use this night to celebrate the season past and focus on the improvements that can be made for years to come.

This is an open forum for members to discuss any changes they wish to see and also amendments to rules and by-laws. We also vote in the new committee and present all awards to the lucky winners of the season.
